BitComet 은 토런트 파일을 주고 받을 때 사용하는 P2P 프로그램입니다. eMule 등의 서버 기반 P2P에 비해서 오래된 파일은 주고 받기가 어렵지만 비교적 최근에 공유되고 있는 파일의 경우는 매우 빠른 속도로 다운로드가 가능하다는 것이 토런트 기반 P2P의 장점입니다.

BitComet 은 토런트 클라이언트로서의 기능외에 일반적인 확장자를 갖는 파일의 경우도 분할 다운로드 기능을 통해 빠르게 내려받기하는 기능을 지원합니다.

이 프로그램은 비상업적인 용도로 사용할 경우 무료이며, Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista에서 사용가능합니다. 다국어 중 한국어를 지원합니다.
