다음 사전에서는 옵션에서 지정할 수 있는 특정 프로그램에서만 마우스를 통한 사전 검색을 지원하지만, Lingoes 에서는 이미지 형태가 아닌 화면 상의 모든 텍스트 형태의 단어에서 마우스를 통한 사전 검색을 지원하기 때문입니다.(Ctrl+마우스 Right)
링고스의 위와 같은 사전 검색 기능은 이미 한글과컴퓨터사의 한/글을 설치했을 때 패키지로 설치되는 사전에서도 사용가능한 방식이지만 링고스는 무료 프로그램이란 점과, 한/글과 같은 덩치큰 프로그램을 함께 설치할 필요가 없다는 점에서 더 편리하다고 할 수 있습니다. 또한 여타 사전이 지원하지 않는 번역 기능까지 기본으로 제공하고 있습니다. (비슷한 프로그램으로 Babylon(바빌론)이 있지만 유료 프로그램입니다.)
