버전만 봐도 내공을 알 수 있는 최강의 편집기, 울트라에디트 (UltraEdit) 최신 버전입니다.

텍스트 편집할 일이 없어 한동안 사용하지 않았지만 이 UltraEdit 프로그램을 쓰면서 인상깊게 남았던 기능이 하나 있습니다. Alt+C 를 통해 편집기 모드를 바꾼 후 블럭 지정을 하는 기능인데, 보통은 문서의 두 지점을 연결하는 모든 글자 블럭을 형성하게 되지만 모드가 바뀐 후로는 처음 지점과 두 번째 지점을 각각 사각형의 왼쪽 위, 오른쪽 아래로 설정한 사각형 내부 모양의 블럭을 형성하게 되지요. 이 기능은 텍스트로 구성된 테이블 등 일정한 양식을 가진 데이터를 편집할 때 아주 유용하게 활용하곤 했습니다.

그 밖에도 프로그래밍을 위한 강조 표시 기능 등을 지원하고 라인 끝의 공백을 지워주는 Trim, 다양한 포맷으로 저장할 수 있는 기능, 매크로 편집 기능, 편집한 파일을 곧바로 FTP로 전송하는 기능 등 텍스트 편집을 하면서 활용할 수 있는 막강하고 다양한 기능들은 UltraEdit를 가히 최강의 편집기라 부를 수 있게 해줍니다.

함께 배포되는 UltraCompare는 두 텍스트 문서 간의 차이점을 알려주는데 약간의 편집이 된 경우의 전후 비교를 할 때 유용합니다.
